On Wednesdays you can count on two things — The weekend is just around the corner and there’ll be a little something shared from the funny emails I’ve collected over the years.
We’ve all seen org charts. Depending on the time of year you may see several revisions of the same chart as people are hired, fired, or retired. Through all these changes one sentiment seems constant. Once again, you can thank my dad for this gem.
I think this may just about cover it all.

Where do you tend to find yourself on this chart?

I get truly funny emails almost daily. I thought, as it’s the middle of the work week, I’d share one along the lines of better office etiquette. This may be the start of a regular feature. Only time will tell. Oh, and if you’re like me you’ve been an email user decades and as such may have seen this one before. I hope you’re still able to get a chuckle or a nugget of wisdom you can apply in your day to day office interactions.
In the high pressure environment with the interpersonal relations that prevails today, I hope the letter below can be of some assistance.
Cussing at Work
Dear Employees:
It has been brought to management’s attention that some individuals throughout the company have been using foul language during the course of normal conversation with their co-workers.
Due to complaints received from some employees who may be easily offended, this type of language will no longer be tolerated.

On April 23, 2010 Arizona’s Governor, Jan Brewer, signed into law the “Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act.” This Act is viewed to be the most restrictive and perhaps invasive legislation to “discourage and deter the unlawful entry and presence of aliens and economic activity by persons unlawfully present in the United States.” If you haven’t read the 17 page bill I highly encourage you do so and have included links at the end for your convenience. In it you’ll likely find aspects that you agree, oppose, feel are overreaching, or do not go far enough to achieve the goal of reducing the number of illegal individuals in the United States by making “attrition through enforcement the public policy”.
What follows is my take on the Arizona’s new law and only the law.
